GRAMPS for Windows

This page is now just a temporary collection of developer tests and source related to building the Nullsoft Installer (NSIS) one-click Windows installer.

Dependencies

GRAMPS depends on the following software packages, similar versions must be installed in order for GRAMPS to run:

• Python 2.5.1 => python-2.5.1.msi (10.7 MB)   [from python.org]
• GTK+ 2.10.11   => gtk-dev-2.10.11-win32-1.exe (11.9 MB)   [from gladewin32] (includes glade)
• pygtk 2.10.6    => pygtk-2.10.6-1.win32-py2.5.exe (1.8 MB)   [from www.acc.umu.se]
• pygobject 2.12.3    => pygobject-2.12.3-1.win32-py2.5.exe (163 KB)   [from www.gnome.org]
• pycairo 1.2.6 => pycairo-1.2.6-1.win32-py2.5.exe (82 KB)   [from www.acc.umu.se]

Note: After installing these dependencies, it is recommended that the computer be rebooted prior to installing GRAMPS.

Report Lab can also be installed to assist in PDF and document printing functionality from GRAMPS.

Installer Support Files

These files can be used by software developers to create the above installer but they are not required to use it or run the program.

• gramps-build.bat -- (10 KB) DOS batch file to build GRAMPS and create installer
• gramps.nsi -- (11 KB) NSIS build file
• gcheck.py -- (1 KB) Run by installer to test environment
• ped24.ico -- (3 KB) GRAMPS application icon
