The Will of John Hall (Jr.) In John's will, we can see evidence of his first family. He takes care to provide for both by name, rather than simply leaving everything to his wife. And he also stipulates that the property is to be sold upon her death or remarriage and the proceeds distributed to his children! [most punctuation added] In the name of God Amen, I John Hall of Saville Township in the County of Perry, being weake[sic] in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in mannor following to with first, I direct my executor heinafter[sic] named to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and the charges of proving my will as soon after my deceased[sic] as he can get funds in his hands for that purpose. I [?] give & bequeath to my beloved wife Ellen Hall my house & land in which I now reside and all other lands that I now own for her own use during her life if she remains my widow, and in case she should again marrie[sic] then it is not to be hers any longer.[?]I give to my beloved wife Ellen Hall all the grain in the ground of any kind[?], also two hags & two cows, one bed and beding[sic] sufficient for the same, two stards[?] & pike[?] for the same, one cubbard & its contents, two rocking chars & six other chairs, two loking[?] glasses and as much caspiting[?] as she may choose to keep, tubs & vesles[sic] which are neseryone[?] charm[?] dung & pichfork, two rakes, one shovel, one grubing[sic] hoe, one lutling[?] hoe[?], also I give to my wife Ellen Hall my watch. All the above named articles she is to have during her natural life and after her death to be sold by my executor for the use of my children and give & bequeath to my wife Ellen Hall all the property that she owned at the time she became my wife for here and forever, and I hereby direct my executor to sell all the resisdue[?] of my personal estate and after, pay as above stated and there be any money left then he is to put it [?] [?] for the purpose of paying the taxes[?] and repairs to my house & [?] that may become necessary and if the interest is not sufficient for that purchase [purpose?] then to take of the princible.
